LEESA SLUDER
President & Principal Consultant

An experienced business and finance executive, Leesa brings to client organizations both a focus on achieving bottom line results and an insight into the human capital perspective that helps drive this success. As a consultant, she is passionate about working with companies that seek to change the culture and behaviors of the firm to strive for the Triple Bottom Line:  financial profitability, social equity, and environmental sustainability.  She is convinced that a dedicated focus on the strategic, financial, and leadership decisions using the Triple Bottom Line philosophy will change the way business is done.  Customers, employees and investors are demanding that companies look beyond the next quarter’s financial results, to acknowledge their social responsibilities and the carbon footprint left from their business activities. The benefits of adopting the TBL business strategy can include increased revenue and market share, talent attraction and retention, increased community support, and access to investors targeting SRI (Socially Responsible Investments).

During her 25 year tenure working for three major corporations, Citibank, Cone Mills Corporation, and Bank of America as a Managing Director/Senior Vice President, she successfully led teams to develop and deliver strategic initiatives, and helped implement organizational changes to match a new corporate vision. Leesa experienced a broad range of business challenges including finance, treasury, investor relations, strategic planning, international development, sales, marketing, and leadership development. Her expertise as a consultant is in matching an executive’s leadership style with the targeted business results. Leesa has done extensive research on the psychology of money and the impact of stress on health, and is an avid supporter of leadership development for women.  She is the mother of four children, including a special needs child.

Leesa earned a bachelor’s degree with a double major in Industrial Relations and Psychology, graduating Phi Beta Kappa from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1979.  In 1985, she participated in a Citibank-sponsored Executive MBA program, with classes through Harvard Business School and NYU.  She earned a master’s degree in Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California in 2007 and completed the Business Coaching Certification program through N.C. State University in 2008.

Leesa has committed to dedicate 20-25% of her time for community service and pro-bono work, supporting organizations including the Lowe’s YMCA, where she serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Managers, on the Executive Committee and Chair of the Finance Committee.  She is also a Premier Coach for eWomen Network, and is an Executive Coach for MBA students in the McColl School of Business at Queens University in Charlotte, NC.   Leesa is a pro-bono consultant to entrepreneurs participating in the UNC-CH BASE (Business Accelerator for Sustainable Entrepreneurship) program.
